My outpatient appointment

Children’s Outpatients at The Royal London Hospital is based across the 6th and 7th floor. Clinic 1 and 2 are on the 6th floor and clinics 3, 4 and 5 are on the 7th floor. Young people come here for all different reasons.

When you arrive for your appointment first you must sign in at reception. The receptionist will ask for your name, date of birth and who you are here to see. You can help them out by bringing your clinic letter with you so they can book you in quicker.

As the clinics can get really busy you may be asked to wait before your appointment. It’s a good idea to bring something to do with you so you don’t get too bored waiting or ask a member of the Play Team for some entertainment options. The Play Team isn’t just for kids and are is there to support our older patients in clinic too! There are also sometimes special entertainers that come to visit and provide different shows for the patients to help if there are waits in clinic!

Depending on what you are coming into hospital for you may meet some of these members of staff in outpatients: Nurses, Doctors, Play Specialists, Play Workers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Speech and Language Therapists, Phlebotomists and Clinical Psychologists.
