At November’s Youth Empowerment Squad meeting, members worked with a graffiti artist to design artwork that was displayed at the Trust celebration for the 30th anniversary of the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The artwork brought the articles of the Convention to life and was displayed in the Healing Space during the event. The celebration (on 20th November) ended up being very successful, it included a DJ, Scalextric race track, nail bar, face glitter painting and a graffiti artist for the adolescent attendees. At the event, YES members spoke to adolescents in hospital about the Youth Empowerment Squad and about how it feels to be in hospital as an adolescent.
The Barts Health Youth Empowerment Squad is always looking for ways to expand their network. Coming to YES meetings you will be given a hands-on approach to making a positive change for young people in hospital. Some current YES projects include: involvement in filming videos, trust trainings & planning events. It is an opportunity to voice your opinion and be part of a change.
